Jo Baer
Jo Baer is an American artist. She began exhibiting her work at the Fischbach Gallery, New York. She would work with many colors but she never found her medium until the 1990's and for her that was a long time. She started off using specific colors like black, red and green. These colors reminder her of a totem pole she saw at an exhibit. Jo has shown her art to the world and hopes that one day someone will be able to make art work like her.
Jo Baer is considered to be one of the leading minimalist artist of today. Her art has different forms of medium and a lot of time is spent working to make sure she has good details. When looking some of her earlier work, viewers were drawn to the black edges of the canvas and to the canvas itself. This allowed viewers to see the roughness of the edges. Jo has a great usage of space with the canvas and expresses her feelings by painting. She stated in an interview that if she wasn't old, she would try to give back more with her work.
