Elis Cooke
Elis Cooke is a contemporary artists located in Tara, Ontario, Canada. Growing up she always had a creative drive, yet without an art program to develop her skills she graduated college with a creative writing major. However, this was not enough to satisfy her creative impulses. Exploring and learning as she goes, Elis has opened the world to her interpretation of art. With creative ideas such as her handmade refillable journals, her art has inspired others to explore their creative side.

Elis Cooke's work is relevant to Minimalism due to her use of color and medium. Using a split complementary system of warms and cool tones, Cooke is able to bring her use of textures and colors to the foreground; allowing the viewer to appreciate them in their raw application. Even though much of her art is considered abstract expressionism, Cooke has been able to delve into Minimalism. By seeing how far she can push a restricted color pallet, Elis Cooke has made Minimalism something to celebrate.
